The Mission behind Active Kids

Active Kids strives to educate and empower every child to enjoy the learning process. The goal is to help overcome barriers in learning and reinspire students to become life-long learners.

Our Philosophy

Active Kids believes that every child is important. We ensure that every student, whether a beginner or an advanced learner is provided with the best mentor who strives to unleash their true potential.

OUR FOUNDER

‘When children are appreciated, loved and cared for; they enjoy the process of creating their best versions and that truly is the purpose of education.’

Driven by this philosophy, Active Kids is the brainchild of Tarannum Sheikh, an educator with over 13 years of teaching experience in India and Middle East. She holds a Master degree in English and has headed the English Department in various schools in Dubai.  Apart from this, she is also a Soft Skills Trainer and has conducted several training workshops for teachers to enable them to accelerate classroom learning using different learning styles and techniques

Tarannum believes in keeping pace with the modern times and continually upgrading her skills. She has been an active member of Toastmasters Club for the last 5 years, where members are trained in confident communication and leadership skills. She has also been a columnist for Khaleej Times, and continues to follow her passion for creative writing vicariously through her students.

Shikha Shah

English Language Coach

Shikha Shah is a Public Speaking and Creative Writing as well as a Math Facilitator with Active Kids. She has been a private tutor for English and Math for over  two years. She is an English graduate from Mithibai College Mumbai, and holds a TESOL certification from Canadian University. Shikha is also a Google certified educator and loves to integrate technology in her daily lessons.

Ankita Killawala

Creative Arts Teacher

Ankita Killawala is an Art and Craft teacher at Active Kids’ Canvas Club. She is the founder of ‘Creative Bees’, a Fine Arts undertaking that teaches various art forms like Mandala,Fluid art, Mosaic art, coffee painting,etc. She has worked as a teacher at various schools and is also a freelance teacher for art and craft for over ten years. She is a graduate in Sociology from Mithibai College of Art and ECC.ed from AVM school.

Ankita Raut

Spanish Facilitator

Ankita Raut is a DELE certified Spanish language teacher with Active kids, with over 3 years of experience in Spanish language training. She uses creative techniques in classes and truly enjoys motivating her students. She is a graduate from St. Xavier's college, Mumbai and holds a Management (Marketing) degree from Raheja college, Mumbai. 

Hema Bhatia

English Tutor

Hema Bhatia is an English Tutor at Active Kids. She has two decades of experience in teaching English to children, her forte being English Grammar. She is an Economics Graduate from K.C. College, Mumbai. She is also a certified Graphologist and a Therapist.

Irene Das

Phonics Facilitator

Irene Das is Phonics Facilitator with Active Kids. She has 4 years of experience in teaching at International Schools. She is certified Pre-primary teacher from Vidhyanidhi Educational Institute Mumbai, and a certified Phonics trainer from Safal Teacher's Training Institute, Mumbai.

Jyoti Yadav

Math and Science Tutor

Jyoti Yadav is a Math and Science tutor at Active Kids. She is an IT graduate with ten years experience in private tutoring. She is also currently associated with Whitehat Junior as a certified Maths and Coding teacher.

Mohinesh Chhabria

Math Tutor

Mohinesh Chhabria is a Mathematics facilitator at Active Kids. He has over 9 years of experience in teaching Maths across IB, IGCSE, ICSE, CBSE Boards as well as University level students. He is a Masters in Accounting and Finance, C.S. and SET (Commerce).

Tasneem Babat

Creative Writing and Communication Coach

Tasneem Babat is a Public Speaking and Creative Writing Facilitator with Active Kids. She has been a private tutor for over twelve years for English, Maths and Economics. She is an Economics graduate from St. Xavier’s College Mumbai, and holds a Management Diploma in Finance from Welingkar Institute of Management, Mumbai.

Iman Ramadan

Arabic Tutor

Iman Ramadan is a KHDA approved Arabic Facilitator with more than 13 years of experience in teaching in UAE, Egypt and Qatar. She is specialized in teaching Arabic Creative Writing and Public Speaking to students of all ages. She is passionate about making lessons interactive and fun.

Vidhi Sharma

French Facilitator

Vidhi Sharma is a French specialist with more than 11 years of teaching experience in India and UAE, Dubai. She has also worked with Jawahar Nehru University and YMCA as a French Professor.

Prof. Asema Siddiqui

Economics Tutor

Prof. Asema Siddiqui is a post graduate in Economics from Aligarh Muslim University. She is currently pursuing her Ph.d in economics from SNDT University. She is well known for her mastery over the content and excellent communication skills. She was also the Best Elocutionist of Jai Hind college from where she pursued her B.A. in Economics. Her passion for teaching and learning Economics has earned her immense favouritism amongst the student community.

Karishma Danii

Handwriting specialist

Karishma Danii is a seasoned handwriting specialist, signature analyst and graphologist. She is a Commerce graduate having deep passion to assist children in improving their written scriptures with easy, hands-on techniques which are fun to learn. Her curated book in handwriting improvises their incorrect posture, grip, letter and word spacing etc. Thus making learning handwriting a systematic process.
